About the Founders
Health Visitor Direct was launched in 2008 by Chamaine Lovett and Liz Costagliola.
Liz and Chamaine had previously worked together in the NHS. They remained friends whilst moving on to other roles, Liz as a Health Visitor and Chamaine in a clinical commercial role. Together they felt there was a need for a Online Health Visiting Service.
In 2008 Health Visitor Direct was born...

Health Visitor Direct's founders.
Hi, my name’s Liz Costagliola. I thought I’d tell you a little bit about myself. In addition to my role as Co Founder/Director at Health Visitor Direct I continue to work as a Health Visitor within the NHS. I started my nurse training in 1991 and it was during this time that I discovered Heath Visiting. As soon as I completed my nurse training, I applied for and was accepted on the Health Visiting course. By 1995 I was a qualified Health Visitor.
I have completed a diploma module in paediatric eczema and have run a children’s eczema clinic. My interest in eczema developed because my middle child suffered from severe eczema and I wanted to know more about it. Luckily he has now grown out it, but I still enjoy helping parents to manage their children’s eczema.
My other particular interest is breast feeding and I have completed the UNICEF breast feeding course.
On a personal note I am married with 3 children, and therefore am well aware of the demands of being a working mum.
Liz
Hi, my name is Chamaine Lovett. In addition to my role as Co Founder/Director at Health Visitor Direct I continue to work in a Senior Clinical IT role working with the NHS. I started my nurse training in 1998 when I had 2 young daughters; I qualified in 2001 having had a baby girl in the middle of my training. My first role was a Practice Nurse and I spent two days working as a Nurse with the Health Visitors, I worked in the baby clinic Immunisation clinic. I am also specialised in Family Planning and Sexual Health and have completed courses in this area.
During my time as a Practice Nurse I ran successful Weight Management clinics and later left the NHS to become a Nurse Specialist in Weight Management. I enjoy helping people with these issues as I have experienced myself the difficulty of losing weight when raising a family, working and generally leading our hectic lives.
